We arrived around 9AM on a Monday. That gave us enough time to look around, sign up for the Crystal Forest Tour, and use the restroom. We brought a cooler and a bag full of snacks with us. My kids really enjoyed the bumpy ride up to the mines. We were the only ones there for the first two hours. We ended up staying four hours that day. Be sure to wear old jeans because the red dirt will stain your pants. I definitely recommend a pair of gloves, I cut my finger trying to brush away the dirt. Lance, our guide was very informative and gave us tips on what to look for. We all had a fantastic time.
The young gentleman that drove us up was very kind and hospitable and even informative.. The cashiers were pleasant. It was a very enjoyable experience. Would want to come back with some better equipment.
Spent the day there today with me wife. The staff are absolutely wonderful people and very helpful. For a rock hound like my wife and me we had a great time and found tons of crystal rocks. My wife found some really nice points and we both filled our buckets with crystal and rocks. Would recommend to anyone who loves to hunt rocks. Thanks for making our first trip there so awesome ...we will be back !!!!
This place is the bees knees!! If you want 100% enjoyment visit Wegner's Mine. We visited 2 days in order to get the most out of time in Arkansas. We loved getting the "buckets" that was what sold us on visiting the second day! You get such a rush when the beautiful stones show up. The second day we went to the Tailings area and that was a blast - made us feel like kids. We stayed for hours, had the lunch we packed and went back and kept digging! It is a perfect activity for all ages! You meet really nice people who have your same attitude about the adventure, makes it fun!! The owners are also great - they are so willing to share information and don't mind educating people who visit about the crystals. And visit the shop!!! What beautiful crystals etc. Cannot wait to return next year!!
Excellent experience for digging for crystals. Staff very helpful giving pointers & finding crystal points. Nice ride to check in, nice ride to mine. Tools / buckets provided. Many clear crystals and a great day. Tried another mine the day before- this is definitely the mine to choose.
