Visited here summer 2016. About one mile on a good trail, but all relatively steep uphill. **Warning** Lots of poison ivy in the collecting area at the top. It is very hard to avoid as it's everywhere! except the main outcropping (it got me). Very picturesque site, so please help to keep it forever that way. I found only a few "nice" specimens in the 3-4 hours I was there, but it took quite a bit of poking around. The quartz crystals won't be of the quality or size you can buy in Mt. Ida, but you can say you found them yourself! The quartz crystal group shown is about 5" in diameter, and my find of the day. I was VERY lucky to find it, as the few other specimens I found are single 1" points.
